Preparations are underway for the 2026 Denton Community Challenge! A much-loved, family-friendly fete with a unique sporting twist, this is a day not to be missed. Avis Road Recreation Ground, Denton (BN9 0PN) Saturday 6th June 1:00 pm – 5:00 pm

Join us for an afternoon packed with fun, community spirit and entertainment for all ages. The field will be buzzing with stalls from local businesses, charities, community and sporting groups, alongside a series of children-friendly sporting “challenges” dotted across the site.

Enjoy great food and drink throughout the day, including a licensed bar and a BBQ kindly provided by the 2nd Denton and South Heighton Scouts, as well as various food vans & caterers. There will also be plenty of attractions to keep everyone smiling- from bouncy castles, trampolines and a climbing wall, to exciting new attractions planned for this year.

At the heart of the event, our Grand Arena will host a programme of performances from local community groups, featuring singing, dancing, sporting demonstrations and more. We’re also delighted to welcome a small display of vintage and unique vehicles for visitors to enjoy.

Inside the hall, you’ll find teas, coffees and homemade cakes, alongside local craft businesses & groups, showcasing and promoting locally made art, crafts and produce. The day will finish in true Denton Community Challenge style with the grand raffle and the ever-popular Grand Tug of War – open to anyone who wants to join in on the day!

The Denton Community Challenge is proudly organised by a volunteer committee made up of Denton Church, The James Daniels Memorial Foundation, Denton School, Denton Scouts, and local volunteers- all working together to create a fantastic day for our community.
